The Brief
The pomegranate has had a long symbolic life across the Mediterranean and the Caucasus. It appears in myth, painting, ritual and poetry as a sign of fertility, abundance, desire and return. From the outside it is firm. Open it, and it becomes something else entirely.
A hard surface gives way to hundreds of seeds, each bright, separate, and held together. The pomegranate suggests that richness is not always obvious at first glance. Sometimes the most interesting things are the ones that keep more inside them than they first reveal.
So this week, think in garnet, oxblood, burgundy, dusty rose, cream, olive and brown. Gloss against matte. Structure against softness. Something restrained on the outside, and unbelievable underneath.
