Werkstatt München is a German jewelry and accessories brand specializing in handcrafted sterling silver and leather. Its aesthetic emphasizes raw, industrial textures and traditional metalworking techniques. The brand represents an artisanal ethos rooted in the dark-wear subculture, prioritizing manual labor over mass production.
History
Klaus Lohmeyer founded the brand in 1996 after studying at the State College for Glass and Jewelry in Kaufbeuren. The label gained international recognition through a long-standing collaboration with Belgian designer Ann Demeulemeester, which began in the late 1990s. This partnership helped define the visual language of the avant-garde fashion movement. Werkstatt München remains significant for its commitment to local production in its Munich atelier, maintaining a distinct position within the artisanal jewelry sector.
