Description

Quoddy is a Maine shoemaker known for handsewn moccasins, boat shoes, and loafers. Its shoes are made for people who love the feel of real leather that softens and shapes itself to their feet over years of wear.

History

Quoddy was founded in 1993 in Eastport, Maine, a small harbor town on the Bay of Fundy, by Ray Horton and Dave Lang. The founders drew on the traditions of Maine's coastal shoemaking and the Wabanaki moccasin craft of the region. Their early work centered on hand-sewn moccasins and boat shoes built to handle wet decks and cold water. Over the years, Quoddy has stayed close to its roots, keeping production in Maine and valuing the skill of its makers. Today its many admirers wear Quoddy shoes as everyday companions that carry the spirit of the Maine coast.
