Napapijri

Napapijri is an Italian premium leisurewear brand characterized by an aesthetic that blends technical outdoor performance with urban style. Its ethos centers on global exploration and travel. The brand represents a subculture of functional fashion, often identified by its signature anorak silhouettes and the prominent Norwegian flag emblem.

History

Giuliana Rosset founded Napapijri in 1987 in Aosta, Italy, initially producing technical travel bags. The brand gained cultural significance by transitioning alpine equipment into the casual streetwear market during the 1990s. Its most recognizable contribution to fashion history is the development of the Skidoo jacket, a high-performance overhead anorak. In 2004, the American apparel conglomerate VF Corporation acquired the brand, facilitating its expansion into a global lifestyle label focused on sustainable materials.
