History
Giancarlo Zanatta founded Moon Boot in 1969 after observing the lunar landing footwear worn by Apollo 11 astronauts. Produced by the Italian company Tecnica Group, the boots became a significant cultural symbol of the 1970s and 1980s. Their design is noted for being ambidextrous and heavily insulated. In 2000, the Louvre Museum recognized the Moon Boot as one of the most iconic design objects of the twentieth century, cementing its place in fashion history.
