McGregor

McGregor is an American heritage brand specializing in classic sportswear and collegiate apparel. Its aesthetic centers on the mid-century preppy look, emphasizing functional yet tailored garments. The brand represents a traditional East Coast ethos, blending Scottish textile roots with American casual styling.

History

David Doniger, a Scottish immigrant and cap maker, founded McGregor in New York in 1921. The brand gained significant cultural prominence during the 1950s when its Drizzler jacket was featured in the film Rebel Without a Cause. Historically, McGregor played a pivotal role in popularizing coordinated sportswear for men. While the original American company eventually dissolved, the brand name was later revived by European entities, maintaining its association with vintage collegiate fashion.
