History

Founded in 1923 by Israel Myers as the Londontown Clothing Company in Baltimore, the brand initially manufactured waterproof coats for the United States Navy during World War II. In the 1950s, the company collaborated with DuPont to develop a water-repellent polyester and cotton blend, revolutionizing the rainwear industry. By the 1970s, London Fog produced two-thirds of all raincoats sold in the United States, establishing a significant presence in mainstream mid-century fashion history.
