Lab Fantasma

Lab Fantasma is a Brazilian streetwear label and creative collective rooted in hip-hop culture and Afro-Brazilian identity. The brand’s aesthetic combines urban silhouettes with social commentary, representing a subculture of resistance and artistic empowerment. Its designs prioritize cultural narrative over traditional luxury conventions.

History

Founded in 2009 by brothers Emicida and Evandro Fióti, the brand originated as a merchandise venture for independent music. It gained significant historical importance in 2016 by debuting at São Paulo Fashion Week with a predominantly Black cast, challenging the industry's racial homogeneity. This milestone established Lab Fantasma as a pivotal force in integrating peripheral urban culture into the mainstream Brazilian fashion landscape, shifting the dialogue toward inclusivity and social representation.
