Heydude

Heydude is a footwear brand specializing in lightweight, casual slip-on shoes. Its core aesthetic emphasizes comfort and utility through flexible outsoles and breathable fabrics. The brand represents a relaxed, functional ethos, appealing to subcultures that prioritize ease of wear and a low-profile, versatile design for daily activities.

History

Alessandro Rosano founded Heydude in 2008 in Florence, Italy, with the intent of creating a shoe that felt like a slipper but functioned as a sneaker. The brand gained significant traction in the United States during the late 2010s, particularly within suburban and rural demographics. In February 2022, Crocs, Inc. acquired the company for 2.5 billion dollars. This acquisition marked a shift in the footwear industry toward prioritizing comfort-driven, lightweight silhouettes over traditional structured footwear.
