HAY

HAY is a Danish design brand characterized by a functional, colorful, and minimalist aesthetic. It represents the New Nordic movement, focusing on mass-produced design for everyday use. The brand’s ethos centers on industrial manufacturing and collaborations with international designers to produce utilitarian objects and lifestyle accessories.

History

Founded in 2002 by Rolf and Mette Hay in partnership with Troels Holch Povlsen, the company debuted at the IMM Cologne trade fair. Although primarily a furniture manufacturer, HAY has influenced fashion through its accessory lines and collaborations with labels such as ASICS and Cecilie Bahnsen. It is noted for integrating contemporary design into the broader lifestyle and fashion market.
