History

Guy Laroche founded his eponymous label in 1957 after apprenticing with Jean Dessès. He contributed to the development of French ready-to-wear, moving away from the strict constraints of traditional haute couture. The brand gained further recognition through its expansion into perfumery, notably with the 1982 release of Drakkar Noir. Laroche was twice awarded the Golden Thimble. After his death in 1989, the house continued under various creative directors, including Alber Elbaz.
