Etro

Etro is an Italian luxury fashion house defined by its signature paisley motif and eclectic, bohemian aesthetic. The brand represents a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and global travel influences. Its ethos emphasizes intellectual curiosity and the artistic reinterpretation of historical textile patterns within a contemporary wardrobe.

History

Gerolamo Etro founded the company in 1968 as a textile manufacturer in Milan. In 1981, the brand introduced the paisley pattern, which became its permanent visual identity. Etro transitioned from fabric production to leather goods and ready-to-wear collections during the 1980s and 1990s. Historically, the house remained a family-operated entity until 2021. Its significance lies in the preservation of complex weaving techniques and the popularization of ornamental, multi-cultural prints in high fashion.
