Cacharel

Cacharel is a French luxury house defined by a romantic, youthful, and feminine aesthetic. It represents a soft, bohemian ethos characterized by delicate floral prints and lightweight fabrics. The brand aligns with a subculture of effortless Parisian elegance, prioritizing grace and poetic simplicity in its designs.

History

Jean Bousquet founded Cacharel in 1962, naming it after a local duck in the Camargue region. The brand gained international recognition in 1963 when a pink seersucker shirt appeared on the cover of Elle magazine. Cacharel played a pivotal role in the democratization of fashion by championing ready-to-wear over haute couture. Its introduction of Liberty prints and the 1978 launch of the fragrance Anaïs Anaïs solidified its influence on twentieth-century feminine style.
