The brand originated from Miura Shoten, a small shop established in 1975 in Tokyo's Ameyoko district. In 1977, it rebranded as SHIPS with its first store in Ginza. Alongside Beams and United Arrows, it is recognized as a pioneer of the Japanese select shop model.
