Founded in 2016 by creative director Sander Lak, Sies Marjan emerged as a significant force in the New York fashion scene. Lak, formerly of Dries Van Noten, named the brand after his parents. The label gained critical acclaim for its unique color theory and won the CFDA Emerging Talent Award in 2018. Despite its cultural impact and distinct visual identity, the company ceased operations in 2020, citing the economic challenges brought by the global pandemic.
