Modehistoria
Keizo Shimizu founded Nepenthes in 1988 in Tokyo as a retail store importing American goods. The company evolved into a design house, launching influential labels such as Needles and Engineered Garments. It played a pivotal role in the global popularity of the Ametora style, blending traditional American silhouettes with avant-garde Japanese construction. By establishing a New York presence in the 1990s, Nepenthes facilitated a cross-cultural exchange that redefined contemporary menswear and utility-focused fashion.
