Christian Dada is a Japanese fashion label defined by its fusion of punk subculture and avant-garde deconstruction. The brand emphasizes imperfection and rebellion, drawing inspiration from the Dadaism art movement. Its aesthetic features intricate embroidery, leather craftsmanship, and silhouettes that challenge traditional garment structures.
Historia
Masanori Morikawa founded Christian Dada in Tokyo in 2010. The brand gained international recognition after designing costumes for Lady Gaga’s 2012 world tour. It debuted on the Paris Fashion Week schedule in 2014, representing a new wave of Japanese design that blended street style with high fashion. Despite its critical success and expansion into global markets, the label ceased operations in 2019 following a strategic decision by its parent company, D-mtec.
