Yohei Goto founded Jelado in 2005 in Tokyo after a career as a professional kickboxer and vintage clothing collector. The brand emerged during the height of the Japanese vintage reproduction movement. It gained significance for its meticulous technical analysis of historical textiles, particularly its Last Resort denim series. Jelado contributes to fashion history by documenting and recreating specific fabric weaves and garment silhouettes from the 1940s and 1950s.
