Kleding is expressie zonder uitleg.

Its aesthetic merges heritage silhouettes like tabi and yukata with contemporary pop-art sensibilities. The brand represents a subculture dedicated to preserving Japanese craftsmanship while integrating it into daily modern life.

Modegeschiedenis

Established in 2002 by Katsuji Wakisaka, Hisanobu Tsujimura, and Takeshi Wakabayashi, SOU・SOU originated in Kyoto to revitalize domestic textile industries. Wakisaka, a former Marimekko designer, introduced vibrant patterns to traditional forms. The brand is historically significant for its role in popularizing jikatabi as contemporary footwear. By collaborating with local artisans, it maintains traditional manufacturing techniques while adapting them for a global fashion context.
