Toga Virilis
Toga Virilis is the menswear line of the Japanese label Toga. It combines elements of traditional Western Americana with avant-garde Japanese tailoring. The aesthetic emphasizes heavy metal hardware, vintage-inspired leatherwork, and a subcultural ethos rooted in mid-century rockabilly and contemporary street style.
Historia mody
Yasuko Furuta founded the parent brand Toga in Tokyo in 1997 after studying at Esmod Paris. The menswear division, Toga Virilis, emerged in 2011 to expand Furuta’s vision of gender-fluid and culturally hybrid garments. The brand gained international recognition for its distinct use of silver conchos and ornamental buckles. It represents a significant bridge between Japanese design sensibilities and global vintage subcultures, influencing the integration of Western motifs into high-fashion contexts.
